Dear Members,

I would like to take the opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead. May your life fill with health, joy and prosperity!

The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed pause on our lives this year. Thank you for your continued support and understanding during these challenging times. After the COVID-19 pandemic dissipates, we will work together toward the long-term goal and vision we have set for Asian dancesport.

1. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has brought all sporting events to a standstill, we never slackened our efforts in the DanceSport Asia (DSA) infrastructure. The decoration of the DSA head office in Chengdu has been completed, and the DSA website has also been designed and set up with further improvement and testing underway. We hope that all members will send your domestic competition news and any other important information to the DSA website (dancesportasia@vip.sina.com) for promotion and publicity.

2. To make sure DSA complies with the policies of Singapore banks, the Chinese DanceSport Federation (CDSF) has donated SGD 40,000 to ensure proper functioning of DSA's bank account, which is really a strong guarantee and support for the DSA. Meanwhile,DSA has called all members to give active support to the Lebanese DanceSport Federation (LDSF). Please remember that we will stick together as a family to get through whatever predicament.

3. Since the beginning of this year, the DSA has been working closely with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in preparation for the 2021 SEA Games (Vietnam), Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (Thailand) and Asian Youth Games (China), providing the host countries with guidance in preparing technical manuals for the Games. At present, we are seeking opportunities for the inclusion of dancesport in the 2022 Asian Games (Hangzhou).

4. On December 7, 2020, the IOC Executive Board approved the inclusion of breaking in Paris 2024, presenting a new opportunity for dancesport. We hope all members will double down on efforts to popularize breaking in Asia and improve our athletic performance, and make Asia heard and seen in preparation for the Olympic Games.

As dancesport becomes part of the Olympics, we must enhance anti-doping education for athletes, urging them to avoid doping and advocating fair, open, and just competition, under the guidance of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF).

5.Going into 2021, we have every expectation and confidence in the future. With a sharp focus on the pandemic's trajectory, DSA will resume activities as soon as conditions permit.

I do hope all DSA members will take an active part in bidding for and sending couples to all WDSF or DSA hosted dancesport events.

With a new era unfolding for dancesport, we must take this opportunity to push dancesport to a new high and make the DSA home for all members.

DanceSport Asia, DanceSport Wonderful Land!
